    • RNG (Disco Rd. Bio-Methane System/ Ridge Landfill Injection), and,

    • Natural Gas Pipeline/Station Integrated Systems ($250MM+ Dawn-Corunna/multiple subsystems of the $300MM+ Panhandle Regional Expansion Project) projects as Lead Risk Engineer.

PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER | OPERATIONS ENGINEER, CENOVUS ENERGY (FORMERLY HUSKY ENERGY)

September 2014 - May 2020

  • Coordinated up to 10 simultaneous corporate process/functional safety, risk management and loss prevention initiatives for the Upstream Heavy Oil/Oil Sands and Midstream Pipeline groups consisting of 25 facilities (10+ 5-30,000bpd thermal, 13 cold/EOR, 2 terminals and pipelines) as a Lead Process Safety Engineer (2019-) reducing safety incidents 50% (as per Husky SVP management report).

  • Led the HAZOP RRF mitigation project, re-validating 7 pipeline and terminal systems across Husky’s Hardisty Terminal, and the safety case/PDM fusion projects as a Lead Process Safety Engineer.

  • Led the district-wide sulfur transport vessel modification (QRA dispersion/HYSYS) and butane pipeline leak investigation team of 5 engineers/ technologists as a Lead Process Safety Engineer.

  • Coordinated site engineering activities as the Lone Operations Process Engineer (2014-2019) in Heavy Oil/Oil Sands (BP/Husky) Unit responsible for $300MM+ 10,000bpd Dee Valley (DV) SAGD Thermal during start-up/ commissioning (2019-), $500MM+, 10,000bpd Rush Lake (RL1) and 1,500bpd Rush Lake SAGD Pilot heavy sour oil facilities supporting commissioning and production over nameplate up to 18,000bpd (2015-2019) and Pikes Peak 5,000bpd Thermal during steady-state operations (2014).

  • Led 900+ person Saskatchewan River emergency leak response as Operations Chief of Staff.

  • Led 20+ Operators/Engineers through 18 HAZOPs (4 plant-wide), 10 provincial/internal audits, 200+ MOC risk assessments, Safety Case creation and AI-training implementation, reducing costs $1MM+.

PROCESS ENGINEER EIT | PROCESS TECHNICAL SPECIALIST, WORLEY (FORMERLY WORLEYPARSONS)

July 2012- March 2014

  • Co-designed a $500MM+ TIC bitumen extraction major project (TR-NMSP-E) relocating tailings through FEED (and HAZOPs) into Detailed Engineering (provided deliverables including hydraulics, vacuum breaker and PSV sizing, PDOGs, LDTs and P&IDs as a Process Engineer, increasing efficiency 10%.

  • Designed the stilling well purification system and stilling well sump diffusion system for ~$40MM TIC discharge program (APCWDS) to meet environmental code (provided P&IDs, LDTs, datasheets and H&MBs FEED deliverables for diesel storage and stilling well designs) as a Project/Process Engineer.

  • Created novel operating point extrapolation to open channel/pump pipeline software using regression machine learning for modeling tailings pipeline flow, resulting in cost savings from asset re-use.
